Welcome to the Sacred Sound Lab!

explore the alchemy of mantra, rāga, and kīrtan

Greetings! I’m Sheela Bringi.

In the Sacred Sound Lab we practice Nāda Yoga - the Yoga of Sound. Through Indian devotional singing and chanting, we explore resonance, vibration, deep listening, and meditation, in the laboratory of our own bodies.

Like a great river, the Yoga of Sound encompasses many streams of sonic practices from South Asia… the kīrtan and bhajans of Bhakti Yoga, the rāgas and tālas of Indian classical music, the mantras and ślokas of Mantra Yoga, and more. These ancient streams are unbroken, alive, and fluid.

I created the Sacred Sound Lab because I see the profound change these practices bring about in my students' lives.

Whether you just want to tune in and listen, or you want to enhance your kīrtan or mantra practice, or you have a desire to go deep into the Yoga of Sound, I welcome you.
